The Self-Journal of Science

The Self-Journal of Science (SJS) was a non-commercial, multidisciplinary repository that provided journal-like services to entrust the evaluation, classification and communication of research to the collective intelligence of the scientific community itself. It was conceived as a free and open space where scholars could discuss, debate, classify, and evaluate their work in an open and transparent manner that rewarded collaboration, with every article treated as the beginning of a scientific conversation.

The project was founded by the physicist Michaël Bon. Open Scholar supported SJS and the aims we shared with it: that lasting change in scholarly communication can only come from open collaboration driven by a genuine interest in protecting science from the interests of commercial enterprises and from the self-righteousness of closed academic groups.

The Self-Journal of Science is no longer active.
